Used Car Guide – The Main Things That Must Be Considered

Buying a used car is not easy especially if you do not have any experience in buying a used car in advance then you need a used car guide.

There are two main things to consider if you are going to buy a used car i.e.:

1.       Vehicle documents

2.       Vehicle condition

About vehicle documents, these must be observed and checked that all are genuine and legitimate. Of course you should choose a trusted dealer that can guarantee the validity of these documents.

While about car condition, there are some tips for checking i.e.:

1. Machines: Open your hood and check all parts carefully. Turn on the machine, if the engine is good, oil pressure indicator light would be soon off and the sound sounded flat. Notice also the exhaust fumes, if the color is blue or black then there’s something wrong.

2. Bodywork / Chassis: Raise one wheel to higher ground, such as sidewalks. Open and close all doors. If the doors cannot be closed properly most likely have experienced bump or collisions.

3. Damage and Rust: Check the uneven surface of cars. Concussion can leave scars that would interfere with the appearance. Check also part of rust-prone: roof, windows and doors, above the rearview mirror and the radio antenna, behind the casing, around lights (Front and Rear), bottom and rear exhaust, under the trunk carpet.

Also need to note on used car guide:

•        Footwear and pedal pads

•        Steering: note if there is a sound that is not normal

•        Inspect the seat cover

•        Knock the bodywork part by part

•        Check under the engine, note when there are oil leaks

•        Spare tire condition

•        Open floor mats and check the conditions therein

4. Suspension: Press each side of the car down in turn. Pressed side must rise higher than its original position and down again to the current position when pressed.

5. Tires: Check worn tires. Uneven tire surface showed irregularities, both wheels and suspension mechanism section.

Buying a used car is one of solutions to get the proper car with affordable price, it would be better if the engine and its bodywork are still in good condition. Unfortunately, with the existence of vehicle theft cases makes you have to be more vigilant when going to buy a used car. You certainly do not want to get a stolen vehicle that can bring you some problems.

So, before buying a used car there are used car guide that could be considered, i.e.:

-      The safest and best place to buy a used car is the show room or the reliable used car dealer that can provide guarantee to the buyer or seller.

-      Do not get tricked with sellers that offer used cars with very low prices or offer it below the market prices. Typically, stolen cars or cars with problems will be offered with very cheap price in order to sell quickly.

-      Avoid buying used cars that are not clear the origins and the owners.

-      Check the completeness of vehicle documents. Make sure there are no missing documents.

-      Also check the correctness of the documents with the engine number and frame number. This is to avoid those vehicles documents were forged.

-      Ask for a copy of identity card of the seller, note the address and phone number of the seller that can easily be reached if at any time you need data for vehicle documents.
