Here is the eighth generations of Honda City that named the Honda All- New city, this car has become the focus of automotive enthusiasts from around the world since first launched in September 2008 in Thailand. Honda City was first marketed in 1996, now, Honda City is made in seven countries and marketed to 39 countries. Therefore, this sedan is used as the core products of Honda besides Civic, Accord, CR-V, Fit and Odyssey.
The Honda All-New City’s appearance is much different than its predecessor, Honda New City. The appearance of this sedan is more manly because the grille and bumper design is more dynamic. With the new appearance, the new Honda City has become a magnet for consumers or compact sedan enthusiasts in many countries in Asia, Europe and America.
Exterior
As a compact sedan, its dimension is not much different with the Honda New City. For the length and width, the different is only in millimeters. The dimension has only changed the height, 15 mm. From the front, grille and lights, the designs have completely changed. The present version of Honda City is more dynamic with tiered chrome grille. Grille lines integrated with the headlamps that form the bow. For the front bumper, the dimension is larger that provides more powerful impression.
From the side, its design leads to the older brother, Honda Civic. All of the side mirrors or doors, in front and behind, the top is shaped ramp or parabolic that gives the impression of a more dynamic and aerodynamics. At the rear, the All-New City also thoroughly redesigned. The lamp is new model, consisting of two segments, red and white. Meanwhile, the rear trunk is shorter, such as Hyundai Avega.
The design and interior style have also totally changed. On the seat, now it uses the black color and also with the dashboard. The mix of ornaments on this Honda City gives more exclusive and luxurious impression. This is done by adding the chrome element in the middle of dashboard and power window button on the door.
The panel instrument has also changed. In this system is used circle for the engine revolution indicator, the speedometer and other machinery indicator, for example; oil and engine temperature. The composition is similar with the Honda Fit, but the detail is different.
Engine
Apparently, the activator source of the Honda All-New City is same with All-New Jazz/Fit i.e. the engine 1500 cc, SOHC i-VTEC (intelligent-Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control). Power and torque that produced by the engine of this car is no different if compared with the Honda New City and the difference is only 10 PS. The Honda All-New City can generate more power at higher torque than the VTEC Honda New City i.e. 120ps @6.600 rpm. Meanwhile, the torque for i-VTEC version is 14.8 kg-m (145 Nm). According to Honda, the engine has reached the Euro-4 emission standard. In the market, the price per unit of this new Honda City is approximately $ 15.655 to $ 21.805, but it depends on the type you choose.
